I live in Hennepin County but work in Dakota County. It would be very easy for me to do more of my shopping in Dakota County and I would make very effort to do that if this tax is passed without a referendum. Maybe we could organize bus trips to St. Paul like they do with prescription drugs and Canada.
I'm avoiding big ticket items (laptops, cameras etc.) plus, will leave car dealers in Opat's district out, when I look for a new car. I'm looking at buying a new car within the next two years. If the voters in Opat's district do the right thing and defeat him, I'll change my mind.
